Fundraising tips

We have put together a few extra fundraising tips to help you raise as much money as possible for vulnerable children and young people. You can:

Advertise - Our invitations and posters will help you to promote you coffee morning. With our write your own press release guide why not contact your local newspaper or website for extra advertising for your event?

Ask for donations - Think about how you are going to collect donations. Many people have found that leaving a basket for people to throw in a donation actually raises more money than asking a set amount per coffee or cake.

Host alternatives to coffee and tea - Some guests might not like coffee or tea, so why not serve a variety of drinks - juice and smoothies are always popular.

Hold raffles and auctions - You could ask local businesses to donate prizes, then sell tickets before or during your event. A lively auction could be the focal point of your Bake and Brew.

Provide entertainment - A quiz, a game of bingo, 'guess the weight of the cake' or 'guess the number of coffee beans in a jar' are a few of our suggestions. We would love to hear if you have other ideas to share.

Sell things - A simple bric-a-brac stall is a great way to raise extra funds - people are always on the look out for a bargain! Or maybe you could get creative and make some items to sell - baked cakes, homemade jam or knitted items are just some examples.
