Crosby committee's garden party

The Crosby committee holds garden party events for church members, their families, and friends. Each event is held in a nice garden location that allows the children to play and a large raffle is also a big feature.

The event is free to put on and raises £750.

Organisation and promotion tips

Members of the committee meet and decide when to host the event as well as a good location. Then they get in contact with as many people as possible and also ask if they would donate items for the raffle. Some raffle prizes are also donated by businesses. The event sometimes is a problem to host because it is totally dependent on the weather.

The committee advertise throughout their community by posting advertisements in the church’s magazine, placing bulletins in the local paper and also putting up posters. They also just use word of mouth and try to let as many people hear about the event as possible.

Special touch

The owner of the garden was also able to ‘match fund’ the donation through her company to double the amount raised on the day – a very easy way to raise more from an event!
