The difference we make to children’s lives would not happen without your support. Frequently there are specific stories and situations that we feel require us to appeal directly to our supporters for help. Often these appeals help children and young people who are isolated, abandoned or ignored.

Support our special appeal for runaway children in danger

We do everything we can to support as many young people and children as possible who run away from home or care every year. But with one in twelve runaway children hurt or physically harmed while on the street, they are more at risk of abuse than ever.

That’s why we launched our appeal to support runaway children in danger.

Supporting children and young people in care

We also work with many children in care who often feel scared, unsettled and lonely. For too many, their childhood is slipping away as they wait for something positive to happen. An Independent Visitor can provide strength and stability - bringing a brighter future to a young person’s life.

Annisha’s Appeal: Children who run away from care need your help

Children living in care are three times more likely to go missing than children living at home. In Annisha’s case, she had been abused and neglected by her parents. When she went into care, she had a roof over her head, but she couldn’t escape the feeling of rejection, loneliness and isolation.

Without feeling like someone loved her and was thinking about her, she ran from care. But while she ran from a sad, unloving place, she fled to something worse – sexual exploitation.

By giving today to Annisha’s appeal, and supporting the work of our project workers you could help transform someone’s life, just like Annisha.
