Where it all began

Pot of Gold started as a pilot in 2006, where the original group of young people named the concept, designed the application process and came up with the criteria for selection.

Over the years more young people have joined the group ‘Team Gold’, others have moved on, while even more have benefited from funding. 

Over the Rainbow

In 2008, the annual Over the Rainbow event was born. Team Gold plan, influence and lead the event, one of the most prestigious held by The Children’s Society. 

In addition to hosting the Children and Young People’s Awards, Over the Rainbow brings together all those that have received Pot of Gold funding, so that they can share how it has made a difference to their lives. Children and young people get together with our staff and volunteers to celebrate and share their experiences.

For the last few years the event has kindly been hosted by Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire.
