London Youth At Risk
Location
Programme manager: Veronika Neyer
London Youth at Risk works directly with young people at risk of sexual exploitation, and with young people at risk of offending.
Our Sexual Exploitation Participation and Training Project (Comic Relief funded) is a partnership project with the nia project that works with young people to deliver awareness raising training on the issue of sexual exploitation to professionals across London.
We believe that the participation of these young people is vital to ensure that their views and opinions are represented and heard by the services they use, as well as informing the professionals that work with them.
Safe Choices Project (DCSF funded) is also run in partnership with the nia project. It aims to reduce and prevent violent offending by young women through providing one-to-one support for young women and group work programmes for young women and young men.
We deliver Safe Choices in the boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham. Working towards the empowerment of young people, we challenge offending behaviour, encourage a critical consciousness of their circumstances and support the development of resources and resilience they need to make safe and healthy life choices.
