Drug and Alcohol Referral Team (DART)
What we do
The Drug and Alcohol Referral Team (DART) provide a confidential information, advice and support service. They aim to ensure that children, young people, professionals and families/carers receive appropriate information and services on substance use and misuse, and that they are enabled to live safely in their communities.
How we do it
The DART team consists of four workers and is a joint venture between EYPDAS and Essex Social Care, Children Looked After. The team offers one to one support, advice and education sessions, staff workshops, group work, information events and a drop-in service.
The team works in partnership with other voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure that the needs of vulnerable children and young people within social care, Children Looked After and other children’s services are highlighted and to assist in the development locally and nationally of services.
The DART team take referrals direct from children and young people, carers and social care workers. Any child or young person who is looked after can receive a service, as can any worker or carer within children and young people looked after services.
