Coldhurst Children’s Centre
Centre leader: Karen Bennett
Coldhurst Children's Centre provides a range of services to children aged 0-5 years and their families in the Coldhurst ward area of Oldham.
We now have six children's centres in Oldham and in 2011 received a 'good' Ofsted inspection grade with elements of 'outstanding' for our work.
This centre works with many agencies and professionals so that children under 5 and their families can receive help, support and advice in matters relating to health, education, child care and early years provision. It also provides the opportunity for parents and/or carers to enjoy playing with their children in a safe and stimulating environment.
We provide a fully inclusive service to ensure that every family, regardless of background or ability, is made to feel welcome and we continue to listen to those using the centres to ensure that we meet the their needs.
We offer a range of universal and targeted services including:
- Ante-natal services
- Parenting programmes
- One-to-one family support service
- Physical activity sessions
- Stay and Play sessions
- School Transition Project
- Baby Clinics
- Literacy and numeracy, Early Years Foundation Stage
Our goal is to continue to work with parents and/or carers and listen to their views in order to support families to give their children the best start in life.
