Mortimer House Children's Centre
Location
Centre manager: Cathy Presto
Mortimer House Children's Centre is a phase two children's centre which has been open since September 2006. Our building is an old council building that is in the heart of the Bradford Moor estate in Bradford West Yorkshire. Our reach area is one of the most deprived in the country.
We have a 32-place nursery with government-funded places for two-, three- and four-year-olds, and supported places for families needing respite care.
We have a family support team which offers in-house and outreach support to individuals and groups, positive parenting programmes and activities to all families in our reach area.
There is a fatherhood team based in Mortimer House Children’s Centre which offers support and activities to fathers/male carers and additional support to father’s who have children with disabilities.
We also run literacy, numeracy and ESOL classes which are support by free creche facilities. We provide multi-language drop in sessions for benefits advice to the whole community, which also includes South Asian and Eastern European speakers.
