The most disadvantaged children rarely suffer on just one front. At The Children's Society, we work directly with these children, many of whom have nowhere else to turn. We are committed to fighting childhood poverty, harm and neglect.
Over 40 local authorities have chosen us to help deliver their services. Our network of programmes includes drop-in services for runaways, as well as children’s centres and support for young carers. We support children who are refugees from violence, and we give those in care a voice.
We transform the lives of many more children by pressurising government and local authorities to change policy and practice to protect them, and we challenge the negative attitudes that perpetuate harm and injustice.
What we offer commissioners
Our programmes vary greatly in size, scope and nature, thanks to a wealth of experience we have built up over the last 130 years. One thing that remains constant however, is our commitment to delivering value-for-money services. We:
- bring the right mix of skills and flexibility to help you and your team achieve impressive outcomes, even in the most difficult cases
- work in partnership with social enterprise agencies, local authorities and other third sector parties
- deliver across all the tiers of need to create breakthroughs for those children and their families who already need multi-agency support.
