Thank you, volunteers!
Volunteers have been at the heart of everything we do at The Children’s Society since we were first founded – by a volunteer – in 1881.
So we always celebrate national Volunteers' Week in a big way and with it being extended this year to twelve days it gave us even more chance to say thank you to our incredible volunteers.
We will be having thank you events across the country from Newcastle to Manchester and Chelmsford to Torbay to show our appreciation. We'll also be posting information and photos on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
Check out our video blogs
We are going to have new video blogs from staff and volunteers celebrating volunteering across the organisation throughout the week on our volunteers blog.
Our Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Director Joe Jenkins saying a personal thank you to our thousands of volunteers, and don’t forget to check back in on our volunteers blog throughout the week.
Making volunteering easy
Not all volunteering requires a regular commitment and we’ve pulled together a host of one-off micro-volunteering actions you can do that will take no time at all, but all help to make a difference. Find out about how you can volunteer even if you're short on time.
Our exciting new campaigning volunteer role
Our online campaigning has helped secure so many positive changes for vulnerable young people over the years, so for Volunteers' Week 2016 we launched our new Campaigns Champion role, enabling people to easily take action in their communities to increase awareness of the most important issues for children and help bring about change.
Could you be one of our first Campaigns Champions? Find out how you can get involved.
Partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award
As if that wasn’t all enough we are delighted to announce we are now an official Approved Activity Provider with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award which means young people can complete the Volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award by volunteering in our shops or fundraising for us.
If you are pursuing this award or you know someone who is, find out more.
Nominate volunteers for our 2016 National Volunteering Awards
You can nominate an exceptional volunteer to receive this special recognition and learn about the amazing individuals who won last year’s award.

On behalf of everyone at The Children’s Society, and every vulnerable child in this country whose lives we strive to improve, we wish to say a huge thank you to every single volunteer who contributes their time, energy and skills to play their part in our movement.
We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you.
