The Children's Society's response to Fair Play: A consultation on the play strategyThe Children’s Society warmly welcomes the development of a play strategy for England and sees it as a major turning point in the recognition of play as an essential part of childhood and children’s developmental needs. Our response is informed both by the range of direct provision of services for children and young people we are engaged in, our own research evidence and evidence to The Good Childhood® Inquiry.
We are very pleased that the national vision and aims incorporate those developed by Play England and which we have been supportive of. Submissions to The Good Childhood® Inquiry emphasised the value of play for children’s learning and development.
