Research and evaluation are key aspects of The Children’s Society’s work. Our national research team carries out:
- research to learn more about the issues affecting the children and young people with whom we work
- evaluation of our projects working with children and young people to measure the impact of this work and to help develop and improve services.
The team specialises in five areas of research: children at risk on the streets, children in trouble with the law, disabled children, young refugees and children’s well-being.
We aim to put children’s and young people’s voices at the centre of the research we carry out. We also aim to offer children and young people opportunities to be active participants in research projects wherever possible.
We have well-established partnerships with a number of University research departments, which support a rigorous and well-informed approach and provide external validation of our work.
We work closely with The Children’s Society’s Policy and Campaigning teams in order to ensure that the findings of our research have the maximum impact.
