From a very big stocking to a very long scarf
Following the success last Christmas of The Children’s Society’s record-breaking world’s biggest Christmas stocking (you can find us in the new Guinness Book of World Records on page 148), we are attempting to knit a kilometre long scarf.
At 100,000cm long, every centimetre of this scarf will represent one child who will run away from home this year.
By getting sponsored to knit a section of the scarf by the centimetre or inch, the money raised will help us to continue our vital work with young runaways. If everyone who knits (any length, any colour and 20cm wide) raises just 10p for every centimetre, together we could raise £10,000; enough to provide project workers to help 50 young runaways.
