Refugee Week 2009
Simple Acts campaign: say a little prayer
For the fourth consecutive year, The Children’s Society is supporting Refugee Week – the UK wide programme of cultural, arts and education events that celebrates the unique contribution made by newcomers to the UK.
This year, Refugee Week (15-21 June) launches the Simple Acts Campaign – a range of interesting activities to build new relationships and stronger links for new arrivals in your community. The activities can be as simple as saying a prayer for refugees, learning some words in a new language or cooking a dish from another country – it really is that simple.
Many of you may already know about the campaign through other Children’s Society supporters or for many of you, through your local church networks. If you are linked to a local church, we have produced a refugee pack that you can download.
During this period of uncertainty it is vital that we remain true to our core values and continue to strive to make childhood better for all children. Thank you.
