Dewsbury Minster hosts exhibition to raise money for The Children's Society
Dewsbury Minster has selected The Children's Society as its chosen charity to receive money raised from an exhibition of nativity cribs.
The cribs are part of a private collection belonging to radio presenter, journalist and author, Libby Purves. 'Cribs of the World' will be running until 2 February 2011 at Dewsbury Minster.
Chief Executive of The Children's Society, Bob Reitemeier, said: "We are delighted to participate in the Cribs Exhibition and would urge everyone to come and enjoy a wonderful display of many different and beautiful cribs, and in doing so, support the work of Dewsbury Minster and The Children's Society."
Canon Kevin Partington of Dewsbury Minster said: "Every year we – like many other parishes - support the work of The Children's Society through our Christingle services and we are pleased to be able to use this unique opportunity to support the charity further and learn more about how this special time of year is celebrated around the world."
