We’re launching our Advent calendar blog on 1 December

Our second annual Advent calendar blog will feature videos, a cartoon, stories and more

Our Advent calendar blog

We will begin our Advent pilgrimage to Christmas this year by way of our Advent calendar blog. Please visit www.childrenssociety.org.uk/advent on Sunday for our first post.

This year during Advent, we will focus on readings from Isaiah to illustrate four themes:

  • Light (Isaiah 2.1-5)
  • A child shall lead them (Isaiah 11.1-10)
  • Hope (Isaiah 35.1-10)
  • Christ present (Isaiah 7.10-16)

Stories, videos, a cartoon and more

We will share stories from a young man destined for a life of destitution before he got involved with one of our projects, films, a cartoon from David Walker,  as well as reflections from Bishop Tim Thornton and Chine Mbubaegbu, poems from Janet Morley and Pádraig Ó Tuama.

Each day offers something different and promises to be as satisfying as a chocolate Advent calendar with way fewer calories. . . unless you put a big box of chocolates by the computer and dip in each day!
