Reviewing children's journeys through the asylum process
We recently released Into the Unknown: Children's journeys through the asylum process, a new report that looked at the experiences of the young people who seek safety in the UK on their own. Often, these children are subjected to a culture of disbelief and suspicion, which leaves them feeling frightened and confused.
In her video about the report, Ilona Pinter, our Policy Adviser, describes the young people's plight. Many, she says, 'come here seeking protection from war, violence, human rights abuses and sometimes torture'. Pinter also addresses what we must do to ensure that these young people are treated fairly.
