How do you keep children safe online?
This year's Safer Internet Day motto is 'create a better internet together’. We chose to help by holding a Twitter chat about keeping children and young people safe online.
We chose this because it's something that was a need. According to the UK Safer Internet Centre, only 1 in 5 parents has spoken to their children about how to report something they're worried about online. We thought it might be useful to give parents and professionals a chance to ask questions and give them practical tips about ways they can keep children safe online.
There to answer questions was child online behaviour expert Ellen Ferguson. As well as giving advice, Ellen talked about ways we can encourage children to get positive experiences from the internet.
