This is the 30th anniversary of Volunteers' Week, the annual nationwide celebration of the incredible contribution volunteers make to this country.
Our tens of thousands of volunteers and supporters take small and large actions each day to help our work in hundreds of different ways.
In recognition of the 30th anniversary of Volunteers' Week, we have compiled a range of these actions that you and those around you can take to support our work. Please get involved - take one of the three actions featured below. (You can also find examples of ways you can get involved in just 30 seconds.)
Find your local Children’s Society shop and your donate unwanted items
Our growing retail network of almost 100 shops across the country raised £5.9 million pounds last year to fund our work with vulnerable children and young people.
All of our shops rely on donations of clothes, books, bric a brac, homewares, jewellery, music, dvds, accessories and more. So whether you’re having a spring clean, downsizing, or just don’t like to see things go to waste, why not donate your unwanted items to your local shop?
Use our interactive map to find your nearest shop.
Use our prayer and worship resources in your church service
Every Sunday we offer a prayer reflecting on the issues in the news or the key activities of our work.
Take 30 minutes to download this month’s prayers and use them in your personal devotions and share with your church to pray with us for the disadvantaged children and young people in our society.
Find out more in our 'Prayers of the week' section.
Join our movement of DO-ers and start planning your own fundraising event
Our thousands of ‘DO-ers’ raise vital money in support of our work supporting the country’s most vulnerable children and young people.
