Derbyshire poet supports us through her work

Siobhan Fennell, a poet based in Derbyshire, is writing personalised poems to raise money for The Children’s Society. 

PreScribed Poetry logoThrough Siobhan's PreScribed Poetry website, she has been commissioned to write poems for a range of different people and occasions including high profile community leaders. 

Visitors to the website are asked to complete a questionnaire that gives Siobhan enough information to craft poems for any occasion. 

'I am so inspired by the work of The Children’s Society and want to help in my own special way'

Siobhan, an avid supporter of The Children's Society, has been writing poetry since she was a child. She pursued her literary passion with a degree that included creative writing at Bath University followed by a post graduate diploma at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Now a full-time poet, Siobhan’s work has featured on BBC Derby, in local newspapers and in specialist magazines.

Siobhan said: 'I am so inspired by the work of The Children’s Society and want to help in my own special way.  I hope my poems help to raise lots of money to support vulnerable children and young people across the country.'

Each poem costs £15, of which Siobhan donates £10 directly to The Children's Society.

A £10 donation helps train a volunteer to support one of the 65,000 children living in care in the UK.
