Simon re-joined us in December 2012 and is responsible for all our fundraising and marketing activities.
Previously he was a senior consultant at THINK Consulting Solutions for eight years. He spent two years before that as the Director of Marketing and Fundraising at NCH, where he increased net income by 25 per cent. And he worked as the Director of Fundraising and Communications at Acorn Children’s Hospice between 2000 and 2004 where he doubled income in three years and, and through careful brand development work, increased prompted awareness to over 90 per cent. Simon was also chair of the Institute of Fundraising from 2000 to 2003.
Simon had been involved in voluntary sector management, strategy and marketing for 20 years before that, first at Intermediate Technology and subsequently at Relate and The Children’s Society.
Qualified in both Business Studies and Development Economics, he has worked not only in the UK, but also Papua New Guinea, Peru, Guatemala, Mali, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. He’s fluent in French, Spanish and Neo-Melanesian.
A proud grandfather, Simon lives in Rugby with his wife, Rosalyn. He does lay preaching around Warwickshire, and acts and sings at Rugby Theatre. In his spare time, he writes and directs musicals for young people.
