Our events

The Children's Society organises a wide range of non-fundraising events from conferences, seminars and forums to open days, product launches and showcases of our work for professionals and partners.

Speakers’ Bureau Events 2013

Monday 20 May: Shelter Children’s Legal Service Conference. The Children's Society CEO Matthew Reed will be a keynote speaker. 

Tuesday 18 June: Dr Sam Royston will be part of the ONS Policy Panel presentation/debate on ‘The UK Welfare System: Is Universal Credit the answer?’

Thursday 27 June to Saturday 29 June: 17th Biennial Conference of the European Union for School and University Health and Medicine (EUSUHM) Conference in London. Matthew Reed will be speaking on the first day on child poverty.

Seminars

We regularly host seminars and briefings.

Thursday 19 September: 7th Annual Edward Rudolf Lecture. By invitation only. The speaker and subject for the lecture is to be confirmed.

Open days, launches and showcases

Our open days, product launches and showcases provide an opportunity for professionals to see how we work directly with children and young people. 

Partnership events

Our partnership events offer professionals and supporters the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of events organised jointly with key partners and other organisations.
Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 June: 14th Young Carers' Festival in conjunction with YMCA.
Friday 23 August to Monday 26 August: Greenbelt Festival - it’s the third year we’re involved with this Christian-based music and arts festival, let’s make it a good one!

Exhibitions and Trade Shows

We are frequently out and about at specialist trade shows and exhibitions meeting commissioners of children’s services, social workers and practitioners.
