Young Fans Urged To Get In Early

16 July 2007

Organisers of Rock the House are urging fans to buy their tickets before the mini festival on 31 August at Harewood House to avoid paying higher prices on the day.

The Glastonbury Festival has today come under criticism for not appealing to a younger audience. The Children’s Society event combines a punk ethos with up and coming talent, all at a reasonable price and for all generations.

Richard Johnson of The Children’s Society said: ‘We’ve got a great balance between rock royalty and bright young things. As a charity for young people, we want to make a great day out that everyone can afford. Tickets are selling fast so fans should get their tickets now and avoid missing out or paying more.’

Currently, the line up includes Iggy and The Stooges; Idlewild; The Sunshine Underground; Sons & Daughters and The Horrors. More bands are due to follow soon. Iggy Pop said: 'I'm getting a big kick out of making music for The Children's Society. All kids deserve a good childhood.'

'The Children's Society Rock the House Live' gig will take place at the Harewood House mansion in Leeds with tickets costing £26 each*. The event will cover a large area of the grounds offering an eclectic mix of opulence with Rock and Roll.
