A thoroughly modern mum
05 June 2008
As a modern mum, with all the pressures of modern living; combining a successful consultancy business, modelling career and most importantly a happy family is not an easy task. As the wife of England Cricket star, Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff, Rachael is no stranger to the demands of a busy family. She knows how important it is to maintain a balance and make time for all the family to do things together.
So she’s become ambassador for our Walk & Explore events. Rachael says ‘“As a mother of three, I believe children should be able to enjoy their childhoods and not forced to be mini adults. Far too many children in the UK are unsafe, unhappy or live in constant danger so have to grow up really quickly. I’m supporting The Children’s Society’s Walk & Explore events as I want to be able to help children like this have the chance of a better childhood.”
Sponsored by Ecclesiastical Insurance, our Walk and Explore events are taking place over the summer in six of the country’s most beautiful and historic cities. We’ve designed two routes - the 1.5-mile Young Detectives’ Trail, perfect for little feet and those who want a gentle stroll; or the 4.5-mile Discoverers’ Trail, for intrepid explorers amongst you! We're kicking off in Durham on 7 June, you can register on the day and Rachael will be there, launching the event and walking to help make childhood better.
We’ve even put together a special 'do-your-own Walk & Explore' pack, so you can walk at your pace, in your local area with your friends and family.
