The Children's Society is pleased to report that Early Day Motion 393, Protecting Runaway Children, is in top position in the current parliamentary session, having been signed by over 335 MPs ahead of 1,650 other EDMs. The parliamentary motion, which endorses the charity's Safe and Sound campaign, calls on the Government to set up a national network of safe places for children and young people.

Tim Linehan, Director of Campaigns and Media, said: "This is a fantastic achievement. It has raised the profile of young runaways in Parliament to unprecedented levels. In particular, I am grateful to our supporters, throughout the country, who have sent postcards and emails to lobby their MPs."
