Only 20 places available for the Liverpool Cathedral Charity Abseil

The Children’s Society is looking for people to fill the final 20 places in a sponsored abseil event down Liverpool Cathedral next month.

The second annual Liverpool Cathedral Abseil will take place on Saturday 17th September to raise money for several charities including The Children’s Society.

The event is a unique challenge that consists of a 150ft descent down the front of Liverpool Cathedral. The participant is connected to the top by a rope hooked around their body. The experience allows the participant to take in the stunning views of the surrounding area.

If you are over 18, have no serious medical conditions and are seeking a thrill then this could be the challenge for you. There is a £35 registration fee and you only need to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship.

The Dean Justin Welby of Liverpool said after he completed last year’s 150ft abseil said: “This was an exhilarating experience I would not have missed...I would recommend thrill seekers to have a go!”

Dawn Fidler from The Children’s Society’s regional fundraising office said: ”I wholeheartedly encourage people to sign up to the abseil. Not only is it an awe-inspiring experience, but also a great chance to raise money for The Children’s Society.”
