On 23 September we held our annual event A Festival of Childhood at Leicester Cathedral. The day featured fantastic performances from local schoolchildren, Leicester Stagecoach drama group as well as a reading from Leicester-based author Bali Rai.
The event also saw us say goodbye to The Right Reverend Tim Stevens, Bishop of Leicester, who was our chair as well as say a warm welcome to his successor The Right Reverend Tim Thornton, Bishop of Truro.
In the evening Bishop Tim Stevens delivered the annual Edward Rudolf lecture, the theme being 'Childhood: A battleground between Christian and secular values?'
Take a look at some photos from the day by visiting our A Festival of Childhood gallery. The event also gained some media coverage and was mentioned on BBC Radio Leicester, 'The World At One' on BBC Radio 4 and there were two articles in the Leicester Mercury, one about the Festival and another about the Edward Rudolph Lecture.
