Filmed over six months with Coventry social services, 'Kids in Care' sought to highlight the experiences felt by children in care at a time when the coalition government is talking about individuals and volunteers doing their part in helping to provide for the 'big society'.

Since the case of Baby P, there has been a 40% increase in the number of children taken into care by the state. There are now 70,000 children being 'looked after' in the system.

Several of our projects such as West Sussex PAR support children who are in or have been through the care system, assisting them to understand their rights and ensure they are listened to. You can watch 'Kids in Care' through 21 October on the BBC iPlayer.
