The Children's Society's Media Team has been chosen as Communications Team of the Year in the Third Sector Excellence Awards 2009.
In its application for the award, the media team highlighted its achievements over the last year, including the launch of the final report from the Good Childhood Inquiry. The launch and the associated activity resulted in unprecedented media coverage for The Children’s Society and created debate across the UK and the rest of the world.
The media team devised a clear strategy that linked all its PR and media activities over the year to the theme of a ‘good childhood’.
The Third Sector Excellence Awards are now in their third year and are cementing their reputation as the UK's most distinctive and exciting showcase for achievement by charities and the voluntary sector.
Paul Eastham, Head of Media at The Children’s Society, comments: “It’s fantastic to receive this prestigious award and it’s a great tribute to the hard work of the whole media team at The Children’s Society”.
