The Children's Society Shortlisted for Charity Partnership with Manchester United Foundation

22 April 2007

The Children's Society has been shortlisted to become the national charity partner of The Manchester United Foundation for the next three years.

Manchester United Football Club is aware that its status as one of the leading sports organisations in the world brings with it significant responsibilities. The Manchester United Foundation has a vision to educate, motivate and inspire future generations to build better communities for all and one way it achieves this is by working in partnership with charities.

If The Children's Society is successful in its bid to become a national charity partner of the foundation it will enable us to launch the first ever UK wide one-to-one youth mentoring and befriending programme to address and re-balance the major factors affecting their lives and make a difference to the child's life.

Having been shortlisted, the next step for The Children's Society is to win a vote to have a chance to present to a panel of Foundation board members who will make the final decision about which charity will win the partnership.
