Actress and singer Bernie Nolan is back in one piece from her Trek China experience with The Children's Society. Bernie and husband Steve celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by joining 40 other trekkers on a journey of a lifetime and raising over £80,000 along the way.

Said Bernie "Steve and I had a fantastic anniversary with all the new friends we made and in a wonderful place. We have done things we have never experienced before, seen sites and challenged ourselves. I really do think this has brought us close together. It has been a once in a lifetime experience that I know we will remember for the rest of our lives."

Having trekked along the Taipingzhai section of the Great Wall it was up the steps of Heaven's Ladder to the top of the ridge and the old wall before arriving back in Beijing and a chance to discover Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and a hot shower!

"It has been a physical and emotional challenge, which was terrifying in places but I kept reminding myself why I was here; to help The Children's Society's work with disadvantaged children back at home in England."
