The Children’s Society has been the lucky recipient of over three hundred brand new toys to be sold in our retail shops.  The toys were collected by the staff and customers of Access Self Storage in Hayes, Harrow, Alperton and Wembley.

In the first event of its kind, all the staff and three hundred and fifty customers worked tirelessly to contact schools, local shops, family and friends and anyone else they thought could help to donate toys and games in support of The Children’s Society at Christmas.  One customer even got children at a nursery school to put together boxes of toys.

The mammoth achievement was celebrated yesterday by a photocall at the Access Self Storage facility in Harrow.

'Everyone did a fantastic job'

Somaya Serraj, Store Manager at Access Self Storage in Harrow, said:

'I’m so pleased with how everyone got together and worked really hard to make this happen.  I’m really impressed with how many toys we managed to collect, and very proud of all the teams. Everyone did a fantastic job.'

Paul Tate, Merchandise Manager at The Children’s Society said:

'We’re really grateful to everyone at all four stores for doing such a brilliant job and collecting so many excellent quality toys for us.  Our shop in Harrow is currently undergoing a refit so we’re very excited to re-open in January with such incredible stock.  The money raised will make a real difference to the lives of the children and young people we work with.  Thank you Access Self Storage!'
