Need someone to talk to?
Stuff happens. It’s not your fault. And when it does, you want someone to talk to. Trouble is, you’re not always sure who. Perhaps your parents are too busy, your mates don’t understand, your teachers can’t help and you feel like you're on your own.
Well, don’t worry. There’s a bunch of people who can help. They don’t want to get in the way or anything but one of them would be happy to have a chat. They have the time to get to know you, to listen to you, to be a friend. OK, they’d be older than you but sometimes that’s best because adults know things and they can help you sort things out.
This person is called a mentor, and The Children's Society’s mentoring initiative will help you by finding you a mentor who is interested in the same things as you. You can do pretty much anything you and your mentor like, such as sports, music, computers, reading, arts, drama, films or shopping.
