12-18 September 2011 is Remember a Charity week

It's a common myth that only the rich and famous leave money to charity when they die. The reality is without gifts left in Wills by people like you, many of the charities we know and support today wouldn't exist.

The Children's Society is part of Remember a Charity, a group of different charities who have come together to increase awareness among supporters of how important gifts in Wills are to charities.

Legacies are the foundation for many charities in the UK and are vital in making sure that all the good work they do can continue.

Thankfully 74% of the UK population support charities and when asked, 35% of people say they'd happily leave a gift in their Will once family and friends had been provided for. The problem is only 7% actually do.

That's why, if we all leave some money in our Wills for charities as well as our families, we can make a huge difference.

Rocky Taylor's stunts

Remember A Charity recently enlisted the help of legendary British stuntman Rocky Taylor, 64, who performed a dangerous live stunt in a bid to convince millions more people to leave a gift to charity in their Will. Read more about Rocky Taylor's mission.
