Jenny Lewis
Jenny has lived and worked in North-East England since 1977. She is a trained teacher of geography and moved into managing Local Authority education services in 1987.
She became Director of Education in Redcar and Cleveland in 2002 and Director of Children's Services for the same council in 2005 where she managed the successful merger of education and children's social care to create a new department and establish a new Children's Trust.
Jenny developed particular expertise in school improvement and reorganisation, overseeing major capital investment projects with the rebuilding of eight new schools in the authority. She is currently working as an independent consultant in children's services.
Jenny is a former primary school and college governor and is an active member of her local church. She is married with one son.
