What we do

We take action to prevent, rescue and support children facing life trapped in a vicious circle of fear and harm; a vicious circle driven by violence, neglect, poverty and discrimination.

We intervene in the lives of children across the country, providing the right support at the right time. Take our work with young runaways, for example. Neglect, abuse, and isolation can sometimes make home so unbearable that the only solution is to run away.

We rescue children across the country, providing immediate and lasting help for thousands of children who are in desperate need. We work with young refugees by helping them rebuild their lives in new communities, surrounded and supported by friends.

We ensure that individual disabled children are given a voice in the decisions that affect them, now and in the future.

We provide expert services in the area of youth justice. Seeking lasting solutions to the reasons behind the statistics, providing preventative support and guidance that leads children away from the cycle of crime and custody.

With our schools work, children's centres and mentoring schemes, we prevent vicious circles of fear and harm developing.

We provide ongoing support for children for as long as they need our help - also working with Traveller and Gypsy children,  children and young people who are affected by adult drug and alcohol misuse and young carers.

We work in partnership with local authorities and other organisations to provide services, including training and consultancy, to deliver unique local solutions to local needs.
