Youth Workers & Clergy Pages
Our Service
Our services are free. We can help with the following:
Starting out
From planting the seed to seeing it grow we can offer you support and guidance about how to start a new piece of youth work or develop your existing work. We'll also help you assess what resources you need, the funding available and help you plan your next steps.
Your staff
We can advise and support you with recruitment of both paid and volunteer staff; how to keep them well supported so that they are able to do a good job.
Training
Practical training is essential for doing quality youth work. We'll help you access a range of training possibilities from one to one sessions to group training. We can also signpost you to relevant and affordable training with other organisations.
Networking and information
We help youth workers keep in touch for mutual support, and exchange of best practice ideas. Look out for our quarterly newsletter Young Times keeping you up to date with funding, training and changes in law without the jargon.
Youth work practice
Need some advice on a situation or not sure you have all the right procedures in place? Our Toolkit provides a range of best practice guidance, policies and templates. We also have a resource library of books, magazines, journals and activity guides, which you can access.
Youth taking part
Wanting to engage with young people in the community or your church? Do you want to see them take an active role? The Children's Society are leaders in the field of child participation and we can work with you to involve young people from asking their views to equipping them for leadership.
