The Genesis project is a primary and secondary schools project working to develop and promote the inclusion and transition of all children and young people in mainstream education. We implement strategies that create opportunities for children and young people to improve attendance, attainment, make friends, resolve conflicts, raise their confidence and self-esteem, get involved in school and community initiatives, raise their aspirations and to support them to make appropriate life choices giving them a sense of belonging and purpose.
To achieve this we provide a wide range of programmes and activities, such as child-to-child, peer mentoring, school council, summer scheme, one-to-one counselling, group work around behaviour, anger management, identity, conflict resolution, confidence and self-esteem.
The project uses a wide variety of child friendly methods when working with children and young people such as:
