Open Access, Helpline and Needle Exchange

We operate an Open Access drop-in service at our young people’s centre in Chelmsford. This is open to all young people and their families, and to professionals. It provides information, support, advice, assessment and referral. We operate this service during the afternoons, where there will always be a member of staff on duty. We also offers a late opening service on a Wednesday for those who are unable to access us during the day.

A telephone helpline operates throughout the week during office hours and late night on a Wednesday.

We also run an under 19’s needle exchange service (subject to assessment) and we are a registered C-Card outlet with two c-card assessors, who can carry out assessments throughout the county. We also have two trained staff that may carry out Chlamydia screening.
