3.5 hours with an additional 20 min comfort break
Costs
£650 + VAT per trainer, per session. All charges will be agreed prior to any work being undertaken.
Aim
To enable participants to improve their skills and knowledge to deal more effectively with children and young people they have responsibility for after a missing episode, thereby reducing incidences of running away.
Objectives
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Gain a better understanding of the issues and experiences of young people who run away reflecting on their past experiences.
- Identify the purpose and value of return interviews
- Implement key principles of good practice in return interviews
- Gain knowledge, skills and confidence to carry out return interviews more effectively
Outcomes
- More effective return interviews
- Staff more confident in working with Young Runaways
- A reduction in repeat incidences of running away.
