The aims of The Children’s Society Good Childhood Forum are:

  1. To promote a continuing debate and ongoing interest in the concept of a good childhood and children’s well being.
  2. To generate interest and gain a broad range of input to our planned research on children’s issues.
  3. To promote and maintain relationships with key partners and external stakeholders with a particular interest in research and policy matters around childhood.

Planned Activities

Research:

  • Well-being - Read the findings from our report that explores the factors that determine children's well-being in England today
  • Fatherhood - An inquiry into the important role of fathers within the context of parenting and possibly leading to other projects on mothers and grandparents.
  • Safeguarding Young People research

Events:

  • The Good Childhood Inquiry - A series of events to follow on from the launch of the Good Childhood Inquiry report – A Good Childhood.
