School programme
The Children's Society has just launched a new schools programme - My Life 4 Schools.
This web based programme is a FREE resource for 7-11 year olds to use in school. Through exciting case studies and online games all in a lively and attractive cartoon style, it can support children to have a good childhood. It can help with dealing with peer pressure, problem solving and getting on better with other children and adults.
Developed in partnership with a panel of head teachers
In 2007 The Children's Society launched the UK's first independent inquiry into childhood, seeking to discover what makes a good childhood today, to shape policy tomorrow.
Working in partnership with this inquiry, members of The CofE Board of Education, and a panel of head teachers we have developed My Life 4 Schools, to help children develop the skills they need for a healthy, happy childhood.
Supporting a range of curriculum needs
My Life 4 Schools supports Citizenship and PSHE teaching for seven to 11 year-olds, and links directly to the Government's Every Child Matters and the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) initiatives. It contains animated case studies based on The Children's Society's work, as well as online activities, downloadable activity sheets and full support for teachers.
You can download a flyer that gives you more information about the contents for My Life 4 Schools, including a sample case study and two free activity sheets to try out.
You can access My Life 4 Schools completely free online now at www.mylife4schools.org.uk
