Girl on a swing. Posed by model for The Children's Society

Policy and parliamentary work

Our Policy Team learn from our national practice base to find solutions to the problems children are facing today.

  • We lobby on legislation and policy that has an impact on children's lives
  • We respond to Government proposals
  • We submit evidence to Parliamentary Committees
  • We work with All Party Parliamentary Groups, individual MPs and Peers.

Our policies are backed by sound research evidence, and we work in partnership with those who share our goals, including other voluntary sector organisations and agencies to share experiences and maximise our impact. By focusing our efforts on the most marginalised and discriminated young people we strive to ensure that every child has a good childhood

Parliamentary lobbying

Our Policy Team informs parliamentarians about our key concerns involving children and young people, lobbies on specific legislation and gives evidence to parliamentary committees.
