How do we do it?
· Help pre-school disabled children build their communication and early developmental skills so that they can have satisfying interaction with people both within and outside of the family
· Use a range of methods including Makaton, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and non directive play to maximise children’s participation and enjoyment of learning
· Embody the principal of parents as partners in the teaching process, recognising and respecting their knowledge and skills
· Focus on children’s strengths and helps parents recognise and respond to their disabled child’s emerging communications
