New Londoners is one of 60 projects of The Children’s Society and was established in 1997 in Newham, East London. We support young refugees and Roma and help them to fulfil their individual potential and to challenge the systems that keep them marginalised.
What we do:
· We work alongside children and young people to support their access to essential services such as quality legal representation, education and habitable accommodation
· We help children to meet new people, reflect on their achievements and build up their self-worth
· We lobby and campaign, raising awareness of their rights and to challenge the prejudice they face.
New Londoners works in Newham and other London boroughs. It provides local solutions for local needs, and, working alongside front-line partners, we help achieve statutory targets and ensure that children and young people are supported to settle and succeed in their lives.
