We believe that refugee children are children first and foremost, and that they have the right to the same opportunities and support as any other child. All too often, young refugees who have already suffered upheaval in their home countries have to cope with a complex immigration process and face bullying, discrimination, isolation and uncertainty as they try to settle into their new schools and communities.

We aim:

· To address issues such as the integration of young refugees in their local communities through a planned programme of activities and events
· To give young people opportunities to learn new skills, gain accreditation and reduce the feeling of isolation and loneliness through being part of a project or group
· To empower young refugees to challenge existing systems or barriers that may discriminate access to support services and enable them to raise awareness of their own experiences
· To improve child-friendly services for young refugees and their wider communities through involvement in awareness-raising workshops or training programmes with professionals, service providers, organisations and other community groups
· To work alongside existing strategic partners in order to highlight issues and share best practice
