We are regulated by the Charity Commission to whom we are required to submit our annual report and financial statements, up-to-date information about our Trustees and other administrative information.

We are also a company limited by guarantee (registration number 40004-C England) and therefore required to file similar information with the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales.

Our Annual Review 2010/11 gives an overview of The Children's Society’s activities over the past year (2010/11) and the progress we are making to create a better childhood for every child.

Highlights from 2010/11 include:

  • We worked with 48,500 children and young people
  • Our OutCry! campaign was a success, ending the immigration detention of children in the UK
  • We were awarded four new children's centres
  • We made it into the top 100 'Best Companies to Work For' in the public and charity sectors
  • We started three new advocacy programmes
  • Our pioneering report into the link between economic factors and children's subjective well-being was published
  • We launched the Good Childhood Index, the first measure of children's subjective well-being
