Face to face fundraising on private property
Our face to face, private site fundraising is carried out in conjunction with a fundraising agency named Care2Give. They pay for space on a private site - eg a shopping centre, train station or any other privately owned site frequented by the public - on our behalf.
Fundraisers approach members of the public and encourage them to make an ongoing monthly donation to help support our work.
Fundraisers must abide by the Institute of Fundraising's code of practice, which states:
If a person clearly and obviously indicates - by words or gestures - that they do not wish to be engaged by a fundraiser - either at the initial approach or during a conversation/engagement - the fundraiser should desist from the engagement and make no further attempt to engage that person.
How to recognise a private site fundraiser
Our private site fundraisers look very similar to our door to door fundraisers.
They wear purple tabards featuring our branding. They also display a photo ID badge.
